Josilyn's American Lit Blog 8/16/17

 My reflection for today is about history and how it impact literature. Today our building was about an important moment in or a moment that was significant to us in history. We will probably try to paragraph concerning that and why. Once we got done going over the building and proceeded to go to the lesson . We reviewed the poem "The Negro Speaks of Rivers"by Langston Hughes. We didn't proceeded to annotate the poem. And doing this we for the broke down the poem in context to better understand the figurative language. For example we made inferences and comparisons on how certain words or phrases were used to express something different while expressing what was said. In annotating this home I learned to break down the text and identify figurative language and how it affects the text.
